The Future Of Social Networking… Google+

Why use Google+ …???
It’s integrated into your Gmail and Google toolbar.
One of the main problems with existing social networks can be remembering to visit them. With Google+ your activity is sitting right on top of your browser in a little black task bar. You can easily look at who’s added you, or share directly from the bar without even having to open up another tab in your browser.
Circles allow for targeted micro-sharing.
Circles (Google’s name for groups) might be one of the most important features. You can easily drag and drop clients and other contacts into circles that you name. Let’s say you create a circle just for clients interested in a particular topic/cause – then, anytime there’s a new task/update, you can quickly and easily target that group with the new information.
Hangouts offer a way to easily connect with your clients or other agents.
One of the important features of Google + is hangouts, a way to loop in up to 10 people for a webcam chat. This feature offers a great way to quickly put together a group of people in a single spot – without having to mess with other services. You’ll be able to use this video chat feature to get everyone on a call and make the decisions that matter.
Right now Google+ isn’t for brands. Rumor has it that brand integration will be coming soon – but for now, it’s all about personal relationships. But the fact that it isn’t stuffed with brands yet gives all of us a chance to get accustomed to it before the volume gets turned up. Getting familiar with it early may give you a jump on the competition. Early indicators of user engagement indicate that this could really be a big player in the social media landscape.
How do you get in?
That’s the tricky part! Right now you have to be invited – and opportunities have been sporadic, although it seems like more and more people are getting on the network every day as it spreads organically. Right now only open to a small set of eager early adopters, the platform will be open to all within a few weeks.
